Position Summary

Hillsdale Investment Management Inc. is expanding with an exciting opportunity to join our Institutional Investment Services Team (IIS), as a Senior Quantitative Investment Analyst. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in applied quantitative analysis in support of our institutional investors driving future expansion and growth.

The IIS Team is responsible for creating all investment content to service clients and attract new clients in North America. The Team’s solutions approach customizes all communications to match clients and prospects' needs, collaborating closely with the Portfolio Management, Investment Research, and Data Engineering Team.

Required Qualifications

Your success relies on your ability to learn, comprehend, refine, and articulate Hillsdale’s body of investment knowledge. This will empower you to:

  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret advanced quantitative and statistical analysis such as factor and style reports, box plots, return and risk metrics, ICs, Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Contribute to the design, enhancement, and sustainment of all institutional deliverables.
  • Support the research and production of Hillsdale’s knowledge capital through the publication of chart books, white papers, articles, and timely insights.
  • Enhance and support the Python based client reporting system and dashboards.
  • Craft meaningful business presentations and compelling RFPs to clearly communicate the benefits of our process.
  • Further the development and implementation of an RFP machine.
  • Prepare and peer review all institutional client reports and presentations to ensure alignment with Hillsdale’s best practices.
  • Participate in meetings advancing your skills in understanding client/prospect needs.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

This multi-faceted and fluid role requires a strong knowledge of quantitative investing, statistical analysis, and institutional communications. You are eager to learn, proactive, and responsive to feedback and guidance. Your qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience, with a passion for quantitative investing developed through your current role at an institutional organization including asset management, consulting, pension, family office, insurance, or an endowment/foundation.
  • Excellent quantitative, statistical, data, and visualization skills based on a strong understanding of investments, statistics, Python and VBA user expertise.
  • Exemplary ability to navigate an information intensive environment to derive actionable insights from analysis.
  • Superior communication, writing and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize into coherent and concise presentations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with an aptitude to design clear and visually appealing content.
  • Highly organized and able to manage and oversee multiple deliverables with tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding critical thinking skills with the ability to see the big picture.
  • A positive “can do” personality who can work independently and collaboratively as required.
  • An ability to contribute to the Team vibe by maintaining a culture of collegiality and respect.
  • An entrepreneurial results driven mindset striving to achieve high levels of individual, Team, and firm performance.
  • Proven relationship building skills across all levels and functions.
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Minimum of a B. Com or similar with a CFA Charter. An MFin is desirable.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
