How to Transition from the

Job You Have to the Job You Want

6:45 PM - Doors Open
7:00 PM - Presentation
8:30 PM - Reception

Perhaps you’d like to move from an investment bank to asset management, from trading to quantitative modeling, from programming to risk management, from research to consulting, or from an accounting firm to a broker-dealer – or vice versa.  Maybe you’re looking for ways to advance your career at your current firm.  Or perhaps you’d simply like to better understand the post-crisis job market landscape in quantitative finance.  Either way, the IAQF is here to help.  This program is geared towards quantitative finance professionals of all levels.

Topics will include:

  • How to leverage and augment your existing skill set
  • Taking advantage of post-crisis market (and job market) trends
  • How to find great opportunities and secure an interview
  • Real interview questions – and how to answer them
  • How to transition without going backwards

This program will be run by David Schwartz, vice chairman of the IAQF. David's career in quantitative finance spans top investment banks, a hedge fund and asset manager, and advisory firms. He is a graduate of Columbia University's MA program in Mathematics of Finance.

Prior to attending, you will be asked to complete a brief survey so that the presentation can be tailored to the specific career advancements that you’d like to make.
